Bike counts tripled in the last 5 years!

Counts are done twice a year at 6 - 10 intersections, mostly in center city Knoxville. Here is some media coverage we got recently:

Have you heard any talk of maybe doing a "rails with trails" (http://www.railstotrails.org/resources/documents/resource_docs/Rails-with-Trails%20Report%20reprint_1-06_lr.pdf) type of thing in knoxville to connect west knoxville/farragut with downtown. Having some type of trail starting at the fox road marina and ending up running into the green way at western plaza would provide a good safe route.

There are a lot of desired greenways. Check out the prioritized list in the Parks and Greenways Plan http://archive.knoxmpc.org/plans/parks/park_plan_adopted_2010.pdf But funding is extremely hard to come by, so you also need to contact all your elected officials (local, state and federal) and let them know these kinds of projects are important to you.
